Ministry Fund Raising
The amount of financial burdens that many Christian schools and ministries face can be overwhelming. I know of several small bible colleges that have closed their doors due to the lack of available funds to continue their work. Many schools use fund raising events to help cover the cost of operation. There are a few pitfalls in ministry fund raising:
- The need to provide upfront money to get started. Many “products” available to be used as fund raisers need to be purchased or a downpayment needed to get started. Not only is the upfront purchase a burden for most, it also provides another problem.
- The need to store and account for fund raising products. If you are selling food items, they need to be stored appropriately. Accounting of how many, where, who checked out, are details that need to be maintained correctly if a fund raising profit is to be seen.
- the a bove point brings to bear another hurdle in the fund raising project, time. Most organizations don’t have the ability to put thier staff on a fund raising project for long.
- And of course time means that you will need to repeat these efforts in order to continue to see fund raising money added to your organization.
These are a few of the burdens and obstacles that companies face while attempting to raise money for their ministries. Below is a presentation from Family Filtering Services that brings a unique and interesting answer to many problems organizations face while fund raising.
